If you are part of a charity organization, you may have noticed the recent trend of offering online donation. You may hesitate to follow suit with your charity because you believe going online is too impersonal, too unsafe, and too complicated. The yearly Swim-A-Thon will be held on Saturday, March 28th. The Swim-A-Thon is a very important fundraiser for our club. Last year we raised $13,000. This year we want to set our goal at $25,000.
This year the swim groups will compete against each other by raising the most money per group. We are setting the minimum amount at $150 per swimmer. Depending on the number of swimmers, each group will set a goal ($$).
To keep everyone informed on how the groups are doing, we will have images of thermometers per group at the pool to keep everyone updated. At practice, swimmers and parents can check their group’s status. In the blink of an eye, we will know how we’re doing or if we need to work a little harder to achieve our goal.
As an incentive, the group who raises the most money will get a group prize. It will be a group outing - most likely to be held in the spring, details to be finalized.
After the Swim-A-Thon, a breakfast will be served.
Parallel to the Swim-A-Thon, we want to challenge our swimmers to design a swim cap. In the next coming days, the website will have the information for the swimmers to get involved with that. Each swimmer who raises their minimum of $150 will receive a newly designed swim cap. You wouldn’t want to be the only swimmer in the water without a new cap
At the moment, we are finalizing the Swim-A-Thon software to make it possible to receive online donations. It is as easy as sending out a couple of emails to family and friends. All the information will be available on the website the first week of March.
Thank you so much for your ongoing support.

The Canadian Hemophilia Society, Manitoba Chapter is proud to present the 6th Annual Gala Dinner of Culinary Inspirations sponsored by Bayer HealthCare. The theme for the March 7th, 2009 dinner is ”Culinary Inspirations from the Silver Screen”.
The evening begins for our guests with the sponsored cocktail hour where guests can mingle and view the exciting offerings in the silent auction. The dinner itself is a celebration of the talents of Winnipeg’s finest gourmet Chefs. Each course prepared by a guest Chef and is expertly paired by a product consultant from the Manitoba Liquor Control Commission.
Delta Winnipeg, a Gold Sponsor, has hosted this event for the past six years. Delta Winnipeg’s beautiful ballroom and their expert service make the evening very special. Delta Winnipeg graciously offers our guests a special room rate of $109 the evening of the Gala. You can stay and dance the night away and then retire to your room.
The Gala Dinner of Culinary Inspirations is the largest fundraiser for the Canadian Hemophilia Society, Manitoba Chapter. Proceeds from the dinner go to programs and
services that help Manitoba families successfully manage inherited bleeding disorders. The Chapter is very grateful to the volunteer committee who work tirelessly for months each year on this project. We are also very grateful to all the sponsors who support the Gala each year. Without your help, the Gala would not be possible.
